Our Mission

We Are Not Opps is a Chicago-based nonprofit dedicated to ending gun violence and building safer, stronger communities for people of all ages. Too many individuals in our city—youth and adults alike—face daily pressure from gangs, drugs, and cycles of violence that steal potential, families, and futures.

We believe that with guidance, opportunity, and community support, every person can rise above these challenges and thrive.

Our mission is to prevent people from being pulled into destructive lifestyles by providing positive alternatives, mentorship, education, and pathways to success.

Through grassroots outreach, workshops, community events, after-school programs, and partnerships with schools, organizations, and local leaders, we meet people where they are and show them there is a better way forward.
